Robyn coined the phrase and shares the popular mantra with future candidates and audiences she addresses: "There is a lot of Winning in Losing." Robyn encourages future leaders to embrace the philosophy that there is no loss in pursuing your dreams, no matter how difficult the challenge, and there is always much to be gained despite the outcome if you're following your passion.
For fifteen years Robyn has been an active participant with the National Women's Political Caucus, LA Westside, a national organization committed to gender parity in politics. Currently a Board Member, she has served as President, VP of Communications, and VP of Special Events in addition to serving as Vice President of Communication on the California State NWPC Board of Directors.
During her tenure, membership more than doubled, the group's political influence and visibility skyrocketed, and Robyn was instrumental in electing the group's endorsed candidates. Robyn was honored in the NWPC LA Westside 2009 Leadership Calendar as a Remarkable Woman along with Peg Yorkin, Gloria Allred, Laura Chick, Chris Essel, and former CA First Lady Sharon Davis, among others.
Professionally, Robyn has spent the past two plus years managing a team of development professionals as the Vice President of Development for LA's BEST, the nationally acclaimed after school enrichment program operated out of the Los Angeles Mayor's office. LA's BEST operates in 196 LAUSD schools and serves 29,000 children every academic school day. Prior to her development work, Robyn joined the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce as a Public Policy Director, advocating on behalf of businesses with city leaders.
When the Chamber inherited the well respect leadership training program, Leadership LA, Robyn was tapped to be the Executive Director of the program, which mentors future civic leaders. Robyn herself is a graduate of the New Leaders Project, a leadership training program offered through The Jewish Federation. Later, Robyn joined the Century City Chamber of Commerce as President & CEO, working with local leaders to build the Chamber's political influence in the business community and expanding the Women's Business Committee.
